J. Scott Thompson, DMD
Dr. Scott Thompson was born in Shaker Heights, Ohio. He attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree and graduated cum laude. Dr. Thompson went on to attend Boston University School of Dental Medicine and graduated in 1987. Dr. Thompson then moved to Vermont to complete a general practice residency at the University of Vermont before opening a private practice. He travels extensively to learn about the latest technologies and concepts in dental science. Some of the courses he takes are provided through the prestigious Spear Institute and Dawson Academy. Dr. Thompson is also an active member of the Vermont State Dental Society.
Dr. Thompson and his wife, Dr. Susan Grimes, reside in Shelburne, where they raised their three kids. Scott’s other passions in life are biking, skiing and watching hockey.

Laurie – Practice Manager
Laurie joined the team in August of 2023, bringing over 35 years of experience in the dental field. She attended Trinity College for three years and completed a radiology course for dental assisting at the University of Vermont. Throughout her career, Laurie has held a variety of roles, including front desk coordinator, dental assistant for a periodontal office, lab technician for a prosthodontist practice and office manager. Laurie enjoys working with the team and values the collaboration and camaraderie among the staff. She appreciates building relationships with patients and finds joy in contributing to their care.
Laurie lives with her husband in Colchester and has two adult children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, crafting, sewing, cooking and baking. She also has a passion for traveling, meeting new people and exploring new places.
Natasha – Front Office Staff
Natasha joined our practice in December of 2023, bringing a background in early childhood education and a strong passion for working with people. She enjoys building relationships with patients and collaborating with her coworkers. Natasha contributes to the team by efficiently resolving customer concerns, leveraging her insurance knowledge and maintaining a strong work ethic to support the office’s daily operations.
Outside of work, Natasha is married and has three sons, along with three dogs and a cat. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding, four-wheeling, reading and camping with family and friends.
Andrea – Registered Dental Hygienist
Andrea became a part of our office in January of 2024, bringing over 22 years of experience in dental hygiene. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 2002 and holds a license in anesthesia. Andrea is passionate about building strong relationships with patients and takes pride in being a part of their dental success. She is committed to educating patients and helping them better understand their dental needs.
Outside of work, Andrea is married and has two sons and three stepdaughters. She enjoys culinary adventures, whether trying new foods, cooking meals or indulging in a good book.
Norma – Lead Dental Assistant
Norma became a wonderful addition to our team in May of 2019. Norma is a delight to work with and has numerous years of experience in the dental field. Everyone in the office, staff and patients alike, thoroughly enjoy Norma’s constant humor. It is rare that someone meets Norma and does not remember her the next time they visit!
Norma resides in Colchester, Vermont, with her husband. In her spare time, she enjoys doing crafts, being in the sun, riding motorcycles, spending time with her family and anything related to Prince!
Alicia – Dental Assistant
We welcomed Alicia to our practice in September of 2023, bringing a background in psychology and a passion for patient care. She graduated from Colby-Sawyer College in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. After college, Alicia worked in an inpatient crisis program for adolescents before transitioning to a career in dentistry. She began as a dental triage scheduler and later pursued dental assisting, where she has now gained over a year of hands-on experience. Alicia enjoys working closely with patients, always looking for ways to meet their dental care needs. She brings valuable experience to the practice, along with a love for dentistry. Known for her wonderful personality, Alicia has a calming presence that helps patients feel comfortable during their visits.
Alicia lives in Essex, Vermont, with her cat, Lily. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with family, friends and her beloved cat.
